Some writings and poems that reflect a side of Permaculture not usually revealed.
“The All-Merciful has taught the Book.
He created man and He taught him the explanation.
The sun and the moon to a reckoning,
and the stars and trees bow themselves;
and heaven – He raised it up and set the balance.
Transgress not in the balance,
and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the balance.
And earth – He set it down for all beings,
therein fruits and palm trees with sheaths,
and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs.
Which of your Lord’s bounties will you deny?”
“The earth is God’s, with its fullness;
The world, and those who dwell therein.
For He has founded it on the seas,
And established it on the floods.
Who may ascend to God’s hill?
Who may stand in his holy place?”
“In the stream,
Rushing past
To the dusty world,
My fleeting form
Casts no reflection.”
“Under the apple tree You have awakened me!”
“Stillness soars as a mountain peak,
Seeking its greatness in height.
Movement stops in a silent lake,
Seeking in depth its limit.”
“The Sun does arise,
And make happy the skies;
The merry bells ring
To welcome the Spring;
The skylark and thrush,
The birds of the bush,
Sing lounder around
To the bells’ chearful sound,
While our sports shall be seen
On the Echoing Green.”
